Why to Give

Your generosity:

  • fills the walls of Joseph Slifka Center with vibrant Jewish life – religious, cultural, social, and educational events (that frequently overflow from our building into the rest of the Yale campus)
  • feeds hungry young minds…very literally, by supporting the operation of the Kosher Kitchen
  • provides access to one on one learning, counseling and other pastoral care from our four rabbis
  • allows a variety of minyanim to thrive in a single community, embracing the unique observances of Jewish movements while sharing a commitment to modern Jewish life
  • supports student efforts for social action, travel, research, leadership development and many other initiatives driven by student passions
  • fuels the arts – encouraging artists to find their Jewish voice and Jews to discover their artistic voice, through exhibitions of visual mediums, musical and theatrical performances, literary readings and publications
  • maintains the facilities that provide a home for these expressions of Jewish life

A gift to our Annual Fund allows Slifka Center to use your donation immediately for our most pressing needs.

However, through arrangement with Yale University, gifts to the Slifka Center Endowment are eligible to receive Yale Campaign Credit. Gifts of $25,000 or more are required to create a new named endowment, but gifts of any size may be added to existing endowments – including our unrestricted endowment fund.
