Minyanim

Minyanim:

Yale brings together individuals from many different backgrounds, and the Jewish Community is no exception. Slifka Center is currently home to several regular minyanim, with services organized by other groups for occasional Shabbat services or around specific holidays. For service times, check our events calendar.

Egalitarian Minyan (Conservative)/Downtown Minyan: Shabbat services and most holidays.

Orthodox Minyan: Shacharit, Mincha and Ma’ariv, Shabbat and holiday services.

Reconstructionist Minyan: leads once a month Shabbat morning services.

Reform Chavurah: Shabbat services and some holidays.

Shabbat Unplugged: a very musical* service that brings a taste of New York City’s popular B’nai Jeshurun to the Yale Campus every other Friday night (give or take).     *instruments will be played

Minyan Urim: strives to create an uplifting and enthusiastic prayer, while maximizing the active participation of our community members.  Consistent with our commitment to halacha, we have sought out opportunities afforded by traditional Jewish sources for increasing the inclusion of women in our tefillot.
