Timothy Frye

Tim Frye, who runs the Slifka Dining Hall, has been cooking delicious food in Slifka’s kitchen ever since the center opened in 1995. The hundreds of students who enjoy Slifka’s meals ultimately have Tim to thank, who has built up Slifka’s dining services and oversees everything from menu-planning to food ordering to scheduling.
Tim’s ties to Yale and to the Kosher Kitchen go way back. Before joining Slifka in 1995, he spent 14 years as a chef in Silliman College, where he first developed his love for cooking for students at Yale. Robbie Hobson, his aunt, was the chef for the Kosher Kitchen back when it was located on Crown Street. He credits her with much of what he has learned about how to be a successful chef for the Jewish community at Yale.
Tim enjoys going fishing with his family, and of course cooking the fish into delicious meals once they are caught..
